​I provide a range of services including delivering evidence-based psychology interventions, clinical supervision, training and education, and research consultancy.

Psychology
I am trained in EMDR, The Flash Technique, Emotional Freedom Technique, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention and in a range of Trauma Models.

I offer both face-to-face and Telehealth appointments, so we can work together in the way that suits you best.
I see our work together as a journey. You’re in the driver’s seat, and I’m here as your navigator—helping you find the best path forward.
My goal is to support you in reaching yours. I do this by using evidence-based treatments tailored to your unique needs. These treatments have been thoroughly researched and shown to be effective in reducing symptoms, helping you feel better.
Supervision and Mentoring
Since 2000, I have supervised provisional psychologists, registered psychologists, and clinical psychologists. I have also served as Acting Deputy Director of the Psychology Clinic at the University of Newcastle, where I supervised Clinical Psychology Master’s students on their first placement.
Beyond psychology, I have supervised social workers (including those seeking mental health accreditation), mental health nurses, and mental health occupational therapists. Additionally, I also provide mentoring.
As a supervisor and mentor, my goal is to support your growth as a highly effective health professional. Through training and supervision, I aim to enhance clinical skills, reduce burnout, and guide the development of long-term professional goals.
Education and Training
From 2003, I have worked as an educator in both university and professional training settings. At the University of Newcastle, I was the:
* Program Convenor for the Master of Health Science (Alcohol and Other Drugs)
* Taught undergraduate and postgraduate health students.
* Developed course materials
* Supervised Master’s and PhD theses, * Assessed research projects.
* Experience in both online and in-person teaching
I’ve led program and course reviews, as well as TEQSA accreditation processes. My teaching has been recognised with commendations and inclusion on the Merit List for Learning and Teaching Excellence.
Beyond academia, I’ve facilitated training for health professionals including workshops, and have been invited as a guest speaker.
I am also Project Echo trained.
I apply Bloom's Taxonomy to design engaging workshops, training, and educational sessions that foster meaningful learning outcomes. With a solid understanding of pedagogical theory, I utilise various techniques to teach, assess, and develop content tailored to diverse learning styles. Whether delivering training online or in person, I strive to create an inclusive and effective learning environment that supports all participants in reaching their full potential.
I have a strong interest in implementation science, focusing on translating research into health policies and clinical practice.
My research spans anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, pain management, and alcohol and substance use. I have contributed to literature reviews and research on workforce and peer workforce development, led health promotion strategies, as well as the development of treatment manuals and clinical protocols.
I have presented my research at national conferences and published journal articles.
Currently, I am working on the OpioidHALT Program with Sydney University, and Mental Health Peer Workers roles with physical activity.
I am also affiliated with the Hunter Medical Research Institute and serve as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Newcastle’s School of Psychological Sciences.
As a clinician-researcher, my focus is on advancing evidence-based research that directly informs and improves healthcare practice. I am committed to conducting impactful research with broad reach, particularly in the areas of addiction, mental health, chronic pain, and workforce development.
